Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold’s estimated
consolidated reserves include 102.0 billion pounds of copper, 40.0
million ounces of gold, 2.48 billion pounds of molybdenum, 266.6 million
ounces of silver and 0.7 billion pounds of cobalt.
The company's portfolio of assets include the Grasberg
mining complex, the world's largest recoverable copper reserve and the
largest gold reserve, significant mining operations in the Americas,
including the large scale Morenci/Safford minerals district in North
America and the Cerro Verde and El Abra operations in South America, and
the potential world-class Tenke Fungurume development project in the
Democratic Republic of Congo.
We expect to produce more than 4 billion pounds of
copper per year for the next several years. For a look at global copper
reserves and current copper production from our existing mines by

FCX is engaged in exploration and development, mining
and milling of ore containing copper, gold and silver in the Grasberg
minerals district in Indonesia. The Grasberg minerals district contains
the largest single recoverable copper reserve and the largest single
gold reserve in the world and is at the heart of a highly prospective
minerals district, where ongoing exploration is providing opportunities
to continue to add to our long-lived reserves.
PT Freeport Indonesia operates under a Contract of
Work (COW) with the Government of Indonesia, which allows us to conduct
exploration, mining and production activities in the 27,400-acre Block A
area, which is where all of PT Freeport Indonesia's proven and probable
mineral reserves and current mining operations are located. Under the
COW, PT Freeport Indonesia also conducts exploration activities in the
approximate 413,000-acre Block B area.
